PFC Important Notice – Pets

Dear Homeowner(s):

We are writing on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Prince Frederick Crossing Homeowners Association, Inc. concerning a very important issue that has been brought to the Board’s attention and must be addressed regarding pet owner responsibility and compliance with the governing documents and Calvert County law.

Pet owners have a responsibility for their pets. As a reminder, pets are to be kept on a leash at all times when outside the owner’s personal property and cleaned up after when out in the community playing or walking. Please pick up waste from all property (lawn areas, common areas, sidewalks, roadways, etc…) immediately. Please carry disposable bags when walking your dog to pick up and dispose of waste in a sanitary manner. Spare waste bags can be found in the green pet waste stations in the neighborhood. Pet waste is not a fertilizer, in fact, it contains harmful bacteria that can be detrimental to the health and well-being of humans and animals.

This matter has become a nuisance to the community and is causing unsanitary conditions. Not only is this a violation of the Prince Frederick Crossing governing documents, it is also against Calvert County Law. Complaints may be filed with management and owners are encouraged to contact Animal Control to report a violation of the ordinance and fines may be imposed.

  • Owners in violation of the Calvert County Animal Control Ordinance may be reported by calling 410-535-2800 and requesting to speak to Animal Control Code Enforcement to file a formal complaint. Any person found violating the Animal Control Laws shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and may be fined up to $500.00 and/or imprisioned.
  • Animal Control may accept a written affidavit from anyone who has personally observed a violation and a citation may be issued.
  • Animal Control Officers have the right to enter upon any property where there is reasonable belief that a violation has been committed. Please be a considerate and responsible pet owner so that all residents can enjoy a safe and healthy environment! We thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in these matters. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office. Respectfully,
Sentry Management
